Anaxagazaroth is one of the uk's unknown entities. Here we try to unveil some of the mistery.

1.) A brief synopsis of the projects history/contributing members/release history
Anaxagazaroth has released two demos, each limited to five copies, and contributed to a split record with Ichneutic, S.I.S.T. and Eternity of Darkness. A compilation of all this material, as well as eight new improvised pieces was to be released on Albion Records, but this idea has since been abandoned.

2.) Give some general thoughts on the inspiration behind the music.
The inspiration for Anaxagazaroth comes from the woods and downs of Sussex; the fens of Norfolk; the moors of Cumbria; England's many forgotten stone circles; rain; dead trees; the spaces between the stars; poetry; the emotions that surround death


3.) Some specifics on your sound.
Anaxagazaroth is a constantly evolving entity. The first demo was minimalist, improvised black metal in the vein of "Transilvanian Hunger". The second was more primitive, slower, and pitched in lower registers. The material that appeared on the split tape was also black metal, this time a mixture of fast and slow passages, tonality and discord, melody and unmelody. Material currently being composed uses less of a black metal framework; instead taking inspiration from avant-garde folk/noise/ritual music... wait and see.

4.) what does your music portray or represent?
The sublime terror that engulfs the soul just before death, when all hope of assuaging its inevitability is crushed. This is the meaning of Anaxagazaroth.


5.) What is your opinion on the state of the underground situation?
There are some talented acts; there are lots of acts with no talent or ideas. The underground is in some respects degenerate and stagnated: however, this merely necessitates deeper and more thorough searches for noteworthy artists.


6.) What is coming up for this project over the next 1-2 years?
Currently, a full length work is being composed. This will be proffered to a variety of record labels. There may be more to follow, there may not.
