Myring (Early 2000)
Myring are black metal from The land of the thousand lakes... Finland, and play it in the old style. This interview was conducted in early 2000
1.) A brief synopsis of the projects history/contributing members/release history
Myring was found in 1997 by Sargonnas(guitar) and Skred(voc). Later Leka(bass), Demonica(synths) and Mortarr(drums) joined." Mighty Northern Kingdom" -demo was released in spring 1998. In 1999, the band gathered to studio to record a MCD. It was finally released with cooperation with Northern Sound Recs. from Finland. After that band has played a few gigs and more is to come.
2.) Give some general thoughts on the inspiration behind the music.
Anger, death, pleasure and frustration. Anger towards ourself, death amongst us, pleasure of playing music and frustration about the stupidity of the people when they do so fucking clear misjudgements and choises. Take christianity for example. I can't really understand nor accept it.
3.) Some specifics on your sound.
Myring's sound is quite yet undefined but also the MCD gave us some hope. Myring has always been based on heavy and thundering sound and way of thinking. Perhaps we had too "good" sound on the MCD Engage the Enemy because it may had required a little bit rawer sounds. Perhaps we will do better in the future. On stage, Myring is to shake the audience with bass based sound, a lot of low frequencies is what we
try to bring on the stage.
4.) What is your opinion on the state of the underground situation?
I have myself kind of popped out from the underground in the past year but what I have heard and what I have bought, tapes, Cd's and vinyls(UG), they have been very high-quality and promising. I'm glad that I WANT to listen the UG bands nowadays at home and in car, they are so good. A lot of sense has come in the scene during the years. People has grown up and the asshole are more or less changed their acting or they have vanished completely.
5.) What is coming up for this project over the next 1-2 years?
We are going to record our first full lenght CD in the near future. The recordlabel just isn't yet 100% clear but we'll see...We are going to use both time and common sense with it this time, so BEWARE!
6.) Also, please provide website information, if applicable...
